Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of physical exercise on college students' learning burnout, build an intermediary model based on the correlation between physical exercise, self-control, coping style and learning burnout, and test the mediating role of self-control and coping style of college students between physical exercise and learning burnout, so as to investigate the influence mechanism of physical exercise on college students' learning burnout. The physical exercise scale, self-control scale, coping style scale and learning burnout scale were used to investigate 1037 college students. For data analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, structural equation model test and bias correction percentile guide method were carried out successively. The results showed that: (1) Physical exercise was positively correlated with self-control (r = 0.610,p < 0.01) and coping style (r = 0.510,p < 0.01). There was a significant positive correlation between self-control and coping style (r = 0.597,p < 0.01). Physical exercise (r= -0.355,p < 0.01), self-control (r= -0.508,p < 0.01), coping style (r= -0.680,p < 0.01) were significantly negatively correlated with learning burnout. (3) Self-control and coping style play a significant mediating role between physical exercise and learning burnout. The mediating effect consisted of three pathways: physical exercise → self-control → learning burnout (mediating effect value − 0.112), physical exercise → coping style → learning burnout (mediating effect value − 0.149), physical exercise → self-control → coping style → learning burnout (mediating effect value − 0.166).
