Abstract

The convergence of neuroscience, AI, and music in elite sport presents a fascinating and largely untapped frontier for enhancing athlete health, well-being and performance. While scientific evidence broadly supports music’s benefits for sleep, mood, relaxation, and affect regulation, its targeted application in elite sport remains underexplored. Personalised music interventions embedded in sporting contexts could become a powerful, non-invasive tool for optimising mental and physical states. As research progresses, music may soon be an integral and targeted part of an athlete’s health and performance arsenal, merging science and artistry to unlock new levels of competitive advantage.
